Terms of service
Last updated: 31 October 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to every purchase from Elite Car Parts Limited ("Elite Car Parts", "we", "us", "our"), whether made through elitecarparts.co.nz, by phone, by email, through Trade Me or other marketplaces, or in person at our yard. Our Returns, Refunds and Warranty Policy and our Privacy Policy form part of these Terms. By placing an order or buying from us, you agree to these Terms.

2. Your rights under New Zealand law
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where these Terms seem to say otherwise, the law wins and these Terms apply only as far as the law allows.
Business purchases. If you are buying parts for the purposes of a business (for example as a mechanic, panel beater, dealer or fleet operator), or you hold yourself out as doing so, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply (as permitted by section 43 of that Act), and that sections 9, 10, 13 and 14(1) of the Fair Trading Act 1986 do not apply (as permitted by section 5C of that Act). We both agree this is fair and reasonable given that the parts are used and priced accordingly.
3. Used parts
All parts we sell are used parts removed from vehicles, unless we clearly say otherwise. Used parts will show signs of age, wear and use, and may have cosmetic marks, scratches, fading or minor damage consistent with their age and mileage. Prices reflect this. Photos show the actual part or a representative part from the same vehicle. Where we describe a defect or condition grade in a listing or tell you about it before you buy, that defect forms part of the description of the part.
Mileage and odometer readings are taken from the donor vehicle and are given in good faith. We cannot always verify them.
4. Fitment and part numbers
It is your responsibility to make sure a part is the right one for your vehicle before you buy. Year, make, model and part-number information is given as a guide. Many parts vary by engine, transmission, trim level, market (for example Japanese import or New Zealand new) and production date. Before buying, please check the part number on your existing part against our listing, or send us your vehicle's details (registration, VIN or chassis number) and we will check fitment for you. If we confirm in writing that a part fits the vehicle details you gave us and it does not, the part will be treated as an incorrect part supplied by us.
We recommend that parts are fitted by a qualified mechanic or technician. Safety-related parts (including brakes, steering, suspension, seat belts and airbags or SRS components) must be inspected and fitted by a qualified person, and you are responsible for any certification (such as WoF, CoF or LVVTA certification) your vehicle needs after fitting.
5. Orders
When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm your order by email or dispatch the part. Because most of our parts are one-off used items, stock can sell through more than one channel at the same time. If a part is no longer available, is not in the condition described, or was listed with an obvious pricing error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full. We will not charge you for a cancelled order.
6. Prices and payment
All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless stated otherwise. Shipping is charged separately and shown at checkout or quoted to you. We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, including Afterpay. If you use Afterpay or another payment provider, their terms also apply to that payment. Ownership of a part passes to you once we have received full payment.
7. Delivery and collection
Standard delivery is usually 1 to 3 business days after dispatch within our usual service area across the upper North Island (from Whangārei to Hamilton and Tauranga). Delivery to other areas, and freight for large items such as engines, transmissions, panels and doors, may be quoted separately. Delivery times are estimates. We will tell you as soon as possible if there is a delay.
Please check your delivery when it arrives. If a part has been damaged in transit, keep the packaging and contact us within 48 hours with photos, so we can make a claim with the carrier and put things right for you.
If you collect from our yard, please bring your order number.
8. Returns, refunds and warranty
Returns, refunds and our warranty are covered in our Returns, Refunds and Warranty Policy, which is part of these Terms.
9. Our liability
For consumers, our liability is set by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and these Terms do not reduce it. For business customers (see clause 2), and to the extent permitted by law:
- our total liability for any part is limited to, at our option, replacing the part, refunding the price you paid for it, or paying the cost of a replacement part;
- we are not liable for labour, fitting or removal costs, towing, hire vehicles, loss of use, loss of income or profit, or any indirect or consequential loss; and
- we are not liable for any loss caused by incorrect fitting, misuse, modification, accident, neglect, or failure to follow manufacturer or mechanic advice.

12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. You and we agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts and the Disputes Tribunal. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
